Nagaur Shivraj Sankal, a resident of Merta City in Nagaur district of Rajasthan and Para shooter, is going to illuminate the name of the city and country once again. Shivraj has been selected in the Indian team for the Pera Shooting World Cup competition to be held in Changwon city of South Korea from 27 May to 6 June. Shivraj will represent India in this competition. In the recent World Cup trial competition held in Delhi, Shivraj won the gold medal by securing first place in 50 meter pistol shooting.

Shivraj said that coach PN Prakash has played an important role in getting this position, who himself is the Olympic medal winner and the Arjuna Award -awarded coach. Under his guidance, I am constantly enhancing by learning the nuances of shooting. The special thing is that Shivraj has also started a shooting academy in Merta City, where he is training the youth in shooting. Due to this initiative, talented youth of rural areas are also getting attracted towards this game. Shivraj Sankhan told that his dream is to move beyond this and illuminate the name of the country. They are constantly trying for competitions.

The journey started in 2016

Shivraj’s shooting career started on 14 August 2016 with winning the silver medal at Jagatpura Shooting Range in Jaipur. After this, he did not look back. By winning several gold medals at the state and national level, he proved that if the courage is elevated, then no floor is far away. Presently Shivraj Sankal is working in Bhopal on the post of Tax Assistant in Income Tax Department. He told that there are many opportunities to get a government job from sports quota, especially jobs like shooting are found in sports.

Success story in less resources

Shivraj is unable to 80 percent of both legs, but never considered himself weak. Initially, he faced many difficulties due to financial constraints. It was not easy to step into an expensive game like shooting, but Shivraj did not give up. Even in the absence of means, he continued 5 hours of practice daily and proved himself.
