The Waqf Amendment Act has been implemented across the country from Tuesday. The Home Ministry has given this information. The Waqf Amendment Bill was passed from the Lok Sabha on 2 April, from the Rajya Sabha on 3 April. This law was enacted after the President’s approval on 5 April.
Earlier in West Bengal’s Murshidabad, violence erupted during the protest against the Waqf Act on Tuesday evening. Many vehicles have been set on fire by protesters. It also includes police vehicles. Several policemen were injured in a clash with protesters.
A Muslim organization was demonstrating in Murshidabad to protest against the Waqf law. The police tried to stop the protesters. Meanwhile, the protesters threw stones at the police. The police fired tear gas shells and lathi -charged to chase them.
The crowd turned violent. People set fire to police vehicles and other vehicles. After this, heavy police force has been deployed on the spot.
Since the passing of the Waqf Amendment Bill, 12 petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court till now. At the same time, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board has announced a protest in the entire country from April 11.
The Central Government issued a gazette notification to implement the Waqf Act.

National Conference and BJP MLAs scramble in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly
There was an uproar over the new Waqf law in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Tuesday for the second consecutive day. The National Conference (NC) MLAs raised slogans demanding a discussion on the bill in the House. During this, there was also a shock between NC and BJP MLAs.
Earlier on Monday, the NC MLA tore a copy of the Waqf Act in the House. An NC MLA tore his jacket and waved in the House. After this, the speaker postponed the House’s action for the whole day. Other parties, including NC, had said to bring resolution against the Waqf law.
Today, on Tuesday, there was a shock between NC and BJP MLAs.
11 petitions filed against Waqf law in SC In addition to Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind against the constitutionality of the new Waqf law, 11 petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court till 7 April. Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind said that our state units will also challenge the law in the High Court.
The Supreme Court on Monday said about hearing the petitions- they will decide on the hearing of the petitions challenging the constitutionality of the new Waqf law. Kapil Sibal, a lawyer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, demanded an argument hearing from the court.
On this, CJI Sanjeev Khanna said- You tell the lawyers to send a mail or letter to us. On this, Sibal said that this process has been completed. In fact, the system of oral mentoring for the hearing in the Supreme Court is over. After Sibbla, CJI Sanjeev Khanna said- Okay, we will see letters and mail. These will be decided. We will list them.
BJP leader’s house burnt, vandalized in Manipur

All India Muslim Personal Law Board said-
The Waqf Amendment Bill is a serious attack on Islamic values, religion and Sharia, religious and cultural freedom, communal harmony and the infrastructure of the Indian Constitution. The support of some political parties to the BJP’s communal agenda has completely exposed their so -called secular facade.
What did the leaders of the opposition say on the Waqf Bill?
- Rahul Gandhi: The Waqf Bill attacks Muslims and sets an example of targeting other communities in the future. After passing the bill, RSS has now focused on the land of Catholic Church. The RSS did not take long to turn its focus to Christians. The constitution is the only shield that protects our people from such attacks and it is our collective duty to protect it.
- Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge: The government’s intention is not good. Who will give Waqf Land, it did not come out. Will give traders … I don’t know. Will feed people like Ambani-Adani. I would appeal to the Home Minister to withdraw it. Do not make it a prestige issue. This is not good for Muslims. Is against the constitution.
- PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti: It should not happen. It is an organization of minorities, Muslims and to bulldozers it in this way and pass it in Rajya Sabha, I think it is equivalent to robbery, which is very wrong that should not be.
- NC MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi: The BJP has no moral or political right to speak for Muslims and by passing the Waqf Bill, the RSS-BJP rule has confirmed its anti-Muslim, anti-minority intention.
