Mumbai has a large number of Jain community. This figure can be around 50 lakhs. More than 108 different organizations of Jain community are active in Mumbai.
The BMC team broke the 30 -year -old Parshwanath Digambar Jain Temple in Kambali, Vile Parle East, Mumbai on 16 April. Prior to this action, the Municipal Corporation sent a notice to the temple. Against which Jain society had also filed a petition. It was to be heard on 17 April.
The Brahm Mumbai team’s action was taken before the hearing. Due to this, people of Jain community have become aggressive. He expressed his anger in a non -violent manner on Saturday.
Thousands of women-men were seen shouting slogans on the streets. Everyone opposed the BMC by tying black bats. People were shouting slogans – we are not weak, we will build temples there.
Local people allege that the Jain temple was demolished at the behest of the owner of Ram Krishna Restaurant. He wanted to start the bar in the campus, but could not get a license due to the temple. So he discovered issues related to the land of the temple and broke it.

After breaking the temple, the people of Jain society reached there and worshiped the idols on a platform.
After the temple was demolished, the people of Jain society kept the idols under the open sky and anointed the idols.
Jain society took out a non -violence rally against the breaking of the temple, in which people were walking with a black patti in their hands.

Trustee said- BMC was renovated by permission
Anil Shah, a trustee of the temple (Chaitya), built in the Neminath Cooperative Housing Society in Kambali, said it was demolished on 16 April. Shah said that the temple was from the 1960s and was renovated by the permission of BMC. He claimed that there was a government proposal, stating that such a temple could be regularized. You only have to present the proposal for regularization to BMC and we gave it to BMC.
Mangalprabhat Lodha said- Defense of religion is the responsibility of all of us
Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha also participated in the demonstration of the Jain community. Lodha condemned this BMC action. He wrote x post- ‘It is our responsibility to protect religion. Our revered Lord Parshwanath Jain Temple has been demolished in Vile Parle, it is not just a building but an attack on our faith, culture and religion. This rally is to show our solidarity.
Congress bid- this pre-planned conspiracy
Congress leader Varsha Gaikwad has described it as a conspiracy. Varsha said, “What is the demand of the Jain community? Action should be taken against the officials who demolished the temple. Their demand is correct. Two JCBs were brought. The women were attacked. The Jain community is peaceful. Have you ever heard its voice. But today they too had to take to the streets. Jain community rallies are happening in Rajasthan and Mumbai.
Surprisingly, the ruling party MLAs and ministers also attended this rally. This is his government. It is their job to maintain the place of faith. However, this does not seem to happen. This action was pre -planned. This is a conspiracy.
