‘Mr. India’ completed 38 years, the choreographer of the film came to remember the old days, we have not grown up, we have not grown up

Mumbai: Filmmaker Ahmed Khan has refreshed old memories on the 38th anniversary of the prestigious film ‘Mr. India’. He started his journey in the industry as a child artist in the film. Before gaining fame as a choreographer and director, Khan shared the screen in this ‘Cult Classic’, which played an important role in shaping his early career. Considering the 38th anniversary of the film, Ahmed shared memories of the early days of his career and talked about the changes he has seen in the film production process.

Khan shared, ‘It has been 38 years since Mr. India was released and whenever I think about it, I get old memories fresh; This really makes me feel as if it is a matter of tomorrow. This was my debut and my first conversation with this beautiful industry. I remember those days of shooting, they were really authentic. As I have always said, I am the only person who has gone through that journey and has seen changes. In those days, we loved it because the entire unit used to be together on the set. There were no vanity vans or agencies, etc. Everyone used to sit under an umbrella and feel like a unit. So it is always called a film unit, and we actually used to behave like a unit.

The famous choreographer said, ‘Mr. India is the only film that has always been fresh in the minds of the audience for so many years and he still feels that they are the same children. We have not grown up and they still recognize me today. I am very grateful that I got a chance to work with great artists like Sridevi, Amrish Puri and Satish Kaushik and I still consider myself lucky that I was a child artist in that film. My journey has exceeded 38 years. it feels great.’ “Mr. India”, directed by Shekhar Kapoor, completed 38 years of his release on 25 May. The film, produced jointly by Boney Kapoor, starred Anil Kapoor, Sridevi and Amrish Puri.
