Most Wickets in a Test Series: The Indian record of taking the most wickets in the Test series is in the name of Bhagwat Chandrashekhar and World Record Sydney Burns.

Bhagwat Subramaniam used to call Chandrashekhar with love with him as ‘Chandra’. His accurate bowler always bothered the opposition batsmen. The unique action made Chandrashekhar’s bowling more dangerous. He took 35 wickets in the 1972–73 series against England at an average of 19.11. During this time his best performance was 6/38. This was the period when India’s strength was spinner. Chandrashekhar used to support Bishan Singh Bedi, Prasanna and Venkataraghavan in those days. The world record of taking the most wickets in the Test series is the name of Sydney Burnes of England, who took 49 wickets in 4 matches against South Africa in 1913-14.
Four bowlers of India have taken 32 wickets in a Test series. First of all, this Kamal Kapil Dev did this. He took 32 wickets in the 6 Test series against Pakistan in 1979-80. Then in 2000-01, Harbhajan Singh took 32 wickets in the 3-match series against Australia. Bhajji took a hat -trick in this series.

Ravichandran Ashwin took 32 wickets in a series against England in 2020-21. Jasprit Bumrah has also taken 32 wickets in a Test series. He performed this against Australia in 2024–25. Ashwin has also taken 31 wickets in a Test series against South Africa. Bishan Singh Bedi also took 31 wickets in a series against Australia in 1977-78.
