After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, the Gujarat government has taken major action against foreign nationals. In Ahmedabad and Surat, late night police raided several areas and detained more than 500 people. Most of them are Bangladeshi citizens.
About 454 people have been caught in Ahmedabad and more than 100 people in Surat. At present, all these are being questioned and the necessary documents are under investigation. Indian Aadhaar cards have also been found from some people. The police have also seized everyone’s phones.
The Gujarat Police is calling it the biggest campaign to catch foreign nationals so far. The police operation started at 12 pm on Saturday and lasted till 6 am. After taking the foreigners into custody, the police took out the parade and reached the police headquarters with everyone on foot.

In Ahmedabad, 454 people were tied to ropes and taken to the office of Crime Branch.
Action of Gujarat government on the instructions of Home Minister Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday directed all state governments to identify foreign nationals and send them back. After this, the Gujarat government asked the police to immediately detain foreign nationals living illegally in big cities and villages of the state.
