The veteran raged on Mohammaj Siraj.
New Delhi. Former cricketer Alastair Cook has criticized India’s fast bowler Mohammad Siraj, who celebrated after dismissing opener Ben Docket on the fourth day of the Lord’s Test. Siraj celebrated very excitedly in front of Docket and there was a conflict with his shoulder. Cook said that Siraj should not have treated this.
Alastair Cook said on the BBC Test match special, “It is unacceptable, but now whose blame is there? Did the docket go directly to him and knew what he is doing. Still, you should not shout on someone’s face like this. I say it completely that it was wrong. No physical contact should be done.”
On Monday, the ICC imposed a fine on Siraj for violating the code of conduct. He has been asked to pay 15 percent fine of his match fee. Siraj now has two demerit points, which is his second such violation in the last 24 months. There may be suspension if there is four points.
