New Delhi. The Indian hockey team is constantly facing defeat. Australia defeated India 3–2 in the FIA Pro League. This was the 400th international match of India’s midfielder Manpreet Singh, which Team India could not make memorable. Manpreet became the second player to play four hundred international matches for India. Among the 33 -year -old midfielder of Indians who have played the most international hockey matches, only Dilip Tirkey (412 matches). India has already lost the match to Netherlands and Argentina. ‘Playing 400th match beyond Kalpana’
Manpreet Singh, who played the 400th match, said, ‘I still remember how I felt in my debut match. Standing here after 400 matches is beyond my imagination. This achievement was shared with every coach. Who carried me forward. With every fellow player who supported me. With every fan who believed in me when I needed it the most. I am still learning. I am still growing. I still play with the same excitement, as played at the age of 19. Manpreet’s career reflects the revival of Indian hockey at the age of 19 in 2011 at the age of 19 to become an Indian midfield beating.
Manpreet Singh has won four Asian Champions Trophy title (2013, 2018, 2023, 2024), two Asian Games gold medals (2014, 2023). Manpreet two Olympic bronze medals (2020, 2024) have been members of the two Commonwealth Games silver medals (2014, 2022), 2014-15 and 2016-17 FIH World League and Podium Finnish in the World League and Hockey Champions Trophy winning team in 2018.
Manpreet has been awarded the Arjuna Award
Along with continuity on the field, Manpreet made her mark outside the field. Manpreet has been awarded the ‘Arjuna Award’ in the year 2018. In the year 2021, he was awarded the ‘Major Dhyanchand Khel Ratna Award’. Apart from this, ‘Hockey India Balbir Singh Senior Player of the Year’ in 2019 and ‘Hockey India Ajit Pal Singh Award’ for ‘Midfielder of the Year’ in 2014, 2021 have been awarded.
