The Assam’s boxer is ready to return to the international level from the World Championship and his goal is to win the second medal in the Olympics. Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist Lavlina has been away from international competitions since the Paris Olympic Games in August last year. While staying away from the ring, he focused on establishing his academy, which was inaugurated in June in Guwahati.
Lavlina told PTI, “When I thought about starting my academy, I planned to play till Paris (Olympics). After that I could retire but the result in Paris was not the same as I thought. If I had won the medal there, I could have said goodbye to the game. ”
Lavlina will participate in the World Championships starting in Liverpool from September 4, but she admitted that she has made limited preparations for this competition. He said, “I am going to compete internationally after a long break. I have got only one month time for preparation, so I am also working on my stamina and strength. ”
