New Delhi. India’s star female boxer Loveleena Borgohen has made a big announcement about her career. She told that she wanted to say goodbye to this game by winning the Olympic medal for India, but this could not happen. Lovelina says that he had considered retiring from boxing to focus on her academy. He postponed the decision after missing a medal at the Paris Olympic Games.

The Assam’s boxer is ready to return to the international level from the World Championship and his goal is to win the second medal in the Olympics. Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist Lavlina has been away from international competitions since the Paris Olympic Games in August last year. While staying away from the ring, he focused on establishing his academy, which was inaugurated in June in Guwahati.

Lavlina told PTI, “When I thought about starting my academy, I planned to play till Paris (Olympics). After that I could retire but the result in Paris was not the same as I thought. If I had won the medal there, I could have said goodbye to the game. ”

27 years in the French capital, Lavlina had reached very close to winning the second consecutive Olympic medal, but the woman lost to the Middleweight (75kg) class quarter -finals to China’s champion Lee Qian. When Lavlina was asked whether the Olympic game to be held in 2028 could be her last tournament, she said, “Yes, it is possible. I could also win the gold medal in the Paris Olympics, because I had defeated all the players reaching the podium earlier. Which shows the level of my game. I can win the Olympic medal. ”

Lavlina will participate in the World Championships starting in Liverpool from September 4, but she admitted that she has made limited preparations for this competition. He said, “I am going to compete internationally after a long break. I have got only one month time for preparation, so I am also working on my stamina and strength. ”
