New Delhi. Tokyo Olympic bronze medal winning boxer Lovelina Borgohain will inaugurate the academy of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati on Tuesday. Lovelina has won the medal in the Olympics of India. She will try to train young players in this academy.

Lavlina said, “This academy is only more than training facility. This is a dream that I have seen for myself and those countless young boys and girls of Assam who want to get into the ring. I want to create an atmosphere with Lovelina Boxing Academy where ambitious players not only learn the art of boxing but also gain the passion, discipline and strong confidence necessary to be successful.

This academy is a proof of Lovelina’s commitment to nurture youth talent by nurturing world -class training and infrastructure. It is also a historic step in the development of sports and sports related infrastructure in the northeastern region of India.

In Tokyo Olympics 2020, Bargohen won a bronze medal for India. She is the third Indian and second Indian woman player to win the Olympic medal for India in Boxing after Boxer Vijender Kumar (2008) and MC Maricom (2012). This is the third medal for India in the Tokyo Olympics.
