Late night sleeping side effects: Are you among those who wake up late at night? If yes, it can be careful now because the habit can harm your mental health. A new study has revealed that people who wake up late at night and get up late in the morning, ie are ‘night out’, they are more at risk of rapid decline in mental abilities with aging. This research has been done by the researcher Ana Venzler and his team from the Netherlands University Medical Center Grroningon. In research, the mental capacity of about 23,800 people was evaluated for 10 years. The study found that those who wake up till late night, their ability to think and remember, saw a sharp decline compared to those who woke up early in the morning.
Smoking and poor sleep
According to this report published in the Daily Telegraph, the organic clock of the body, called a chronotype, decides when a person sleeps and when he wakes up. Night ul means that the cycle of sleeping and waking up in a person who wakes up till late night gets spoiled. According to the study, habits like smoking, alcohol and unhealthy eating were found more among those who woke up till late night. Researcher Ana Venzler said that such behavior can negatively affect their mental health. Research also found that 25 percent can be responsible for mental fall by smoking and poor sleep. It was also observed in the study that people who are highly educated may have a decline of 0.8 marks in mental capacity in the next 10 years due to just one hour delay in sleeping and waking up.
Lack of sleep does not relax the mind
Those who wake up till late night have to get up early in the morning and go to work, due to which their sleep remains incomplete. Due to lack of sleep, the brain does not get complete rest and it can affect the ability to think and understand. Ana Venzler says that people’s biological clock changes with age. Children are usually about to rise early, but most people start sleeping late at night in adolescence. After the age of 20, gradually the tendency to wake up again in the morning starts returning and by the age of forty, most people become ‘morning person’.
Promote wrong habits
However, this does not happen to everyone. Many people are unable to give up the habit of waking up late at night and this habit is separated from the normal life cycle. Venzler believes that such people should avoid working against their biological clock. She says that you can try to sleep early but if melatonin (sleep hormone) is not being made in your body at that time, then you will not sleep. If working against the organic clock of the body becomes a compulsion, then it does not allow the brain to take full rest and promotes wrong habits. Venzler suggests that those who wake up late at night should be given the facility to start work for a while in the morning so that they can get better sleep and maintain mental health.
