The trial of the case started on 12 November 2024 in Sealdah Court, convicted Sanjay Roy after 57 days.
The victim’s father has expressed anger and displeasure over the CBI in the rape-order case from the trainee doctor at the hospital in Kolkata. He claimed on Tuesday that CBI is aware of his daughter’s criminals, but the agency is not telling the truth.
He told the news agency ANI-
The CBI has submitted two separate reports in the Kolkata High Court and Sealdah District Court. Even the judges of the Supreme Court are not believing their report. We had faith in CBI, but now we have no faith in them.
The victim’s father also said this-
My daughter’s friends came to meet me two days ago. He showed me that my daughter had dropped herself from her WhatsApp group. That is, someone accessed my daughter’s phone. His phone is with CBI, but he is denying it. His mobile phone has all the answers. I am no longer sure about Indian law and order.
Former medical college principal Sandeep Ghosh was also accused, but the CBI could not file a charge sheet against Ghosh within 90 days, due to which Sealdah Court granted Ghosh bail in the case on 13 December.

The trainee doctor was raped on the night of 8 August at RG Kar Hospital. The doctor’s body was found in the seminar hall on the morning of 9 August. Based on the CCTV footage, the police arrested a civic volunteer named Sanjay Roy on 10 August. After this incident, there were demonstrations across the country including Kolkata. Health services were stalled in Bengal for more than 2 months.
After 222 days, the death certificate of the victim was issued 222 days after the incident, Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) issued a death certificate of the victim. On March 19, the Health Secretary went to the victim’s house and handed it over to the parents.
Earlier on February 23, the victim’s family alleged that Kolkata Municipal Corporation was not issuing Death Certificate, while Panihati Municipal Corporation had issued a certificate of cremation.
The psychiatrist had told- the victim was under mental stress Mohit Randeep, a consultant psychiatrist, claimed in a Bengali channel interview that the victim had to do duty for 36 hours continuously. He was discriminated against in shift allotment. He had seen many disturbances in the purchase of drugs and medical equipment. After this he was being harassed.
Randeep also told that I had given some advice to the trainee doctor and asked to come again for follow -up counseling, but she did not come. If necessary, I am ready to testify in front of CBI.
