They only weed the field with a khurpi, which not only saves hard work, but also reduces the cost. He says that not only hard work brings color in this farming done in a native way, but the crop is also bumper.
Raju explains that when the field is thoroughly cleaned from the beginning and the grass is cut on time, the watermelon plants get an open space to grow and their growth is fantastic.
Millions of earnings from watermelon crop
After the excavation of potatoes, farmers sow melon seeds. This crop is ready by May-June. In summer, the demand for watermelon remains all over the country, in such a situation, farmers earn well.
Raju says that a bigha field costs about 3000 rupees and watermelon comes out from there. In the market, they get a rate of 10 to 20 rupees a kg, which earns millions.
After harvesting, farmers make organic manure from the remaining plants of Raju watermelon and use it in the next crops. This also increases the yield of the next crop and the fertile power of the field also remains.
How to grow watermelon?
Raju says that first of all, seeds or plants are planted at a distance of one foot in it. Irrigation is done in time and as the plants grow, flowers and then fruits start coming out in them.
