New Delhi. Kidambi Srikanth of India has been able to make it to the finals of a tournament after a long time. Kidambi Srikanth made it to the finals of the Malaysia Masters Super 500 badminton tournament on Saturday. He defeated Japan’s war Tanaka in the semi -finals. This is the first time in six years when Kidambi Srikanth has entered the men’s singles finals of the BWF tournament.

Indian badminton player Kidambi Srikanth has won the 2021 World Championship Silver Medal. He has also been at number one in the world rankings. His career derailed due to injury. After a long struggle, Kidambi has been successful in getting his rhythm. He defeated the world number 23 Yushi Tanaka 21-18, 24-22 from the accurate net play and attacking game in the semi-finals of Malaysia Masters.

Kidambi Srikanth did not have to struggle much to win the first game from Yushi Tanaka but after that he got a tough test. The Japanese player took a 9-3 lead in the second game at one time. Then it seemed that the game went out of Kidambi’s hand. But the Indian shuttler made a comeback and won the match.

Srikanth was runner -up at the 2019 India Open and since then the 32 -year -old player has the first final in the BWF World Tour. He won four titles in 2017. Former world number one player Srikanth is going through poor form and fitness in the last few sessions, due to which his ranking has gone down. He is currently ranked 65th in world racking.
