On the second day of Khelo India Water Sports Festival 2025 i.e. on August 22, Madhya Pradesh won all four gold medals and won its glory. Host Jammu and Kashmir put another silver medal in their bag, while the Odisha team won two silver and finished second in the medal table.

The entire thrill of the second day took place in the evening season when all the four final races of Koning and Kayiking were held. Every injury of paddle on the water splashed into the waves and the echo of the crowd gathered on the shore brought the atmosphere alive. Madhya Pradesh, who is considered a strong contender in water sports, first saw a gold jerk in Mains Kayaking Doubles 500 meters and then did not turn back. With this victory, the team reached number one directly in the medal table.

So far, 7 gold medals have been decided and 17 more medals will be at stake in the final day on Saturday, out of which 10 will be associated with rowing. The special thing is that many services veteran Rosters are in the fray for their respective states. Therefore, there will be a collision of thorns. All the matches being played here are Olympic medal events.

Madhya Pradesh’s Niharika Singh and Chandrika Kushwaha, who won gold in women’s kayaking K-2 500 meters doubles. Both said that it was very special for them to come and play in Kashmir. Both players are now preparing for the Asian Games 2026 to be held in Japan. He smiled and said- ‘We liked Kashmir very much and the competition was fantastic. Khelo India is a great platform for youth.

17-year-old Dali Bishnoi won the gold medal in the women’s groaning K-1 500 meters and jumped with joy. He said that this gold is not just a win for him but the first step of success. Her dream is to illuminate the name of India in the Asian Games and Olympics and she will work hard for this.

It is necessary to mention here that this festival is a new chapter in the Khelo India calendar. The event being organized includes rowing, kanoeing, kayaking, water skiing, shikara race and dragon boat race. Players from 36 states and union territories across the country are participating in this water festival being held for the first time. The competition here is in the open age category. Earlier, the second event of Khelo India in Jammu and Kashmir was held in 2020 and 2021 as Winter Games in Gulmarg.
