The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday reprimanded the actor-director and leader Kamal Haasan over the comment on the Kannada language. The court said on what basis you have given a statement. Are you a historian or a linguist? You do not have the right to hurt the feelings of any person.
Justice M Nagprasanna said, ‘The partition of this country is on the basis of language. Water, land and language matters for citizens. Unrest has spread due to your statement. The people of Karnataka expected only forgiveness from you. You came here to ask for security.
The bench further said- You want your film to be released in Karnataka, but you are not ready to apologize. If you want to earn from your film in Karnataka, apologize, mistakes are most. You should know what to do in case of mistakes.
Actually, Kamal said on 24 May that Kannada language was born from Tamil. His statement is being opposed in Karnataka. Pro -Kannada organizations have demanded an apology from him. The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has banned the release of thug life. Kamal has filed a petition in the High Court to remove the ban on release.

He said during the promotion of his film ‘Thug Life’ in Chennai on 30 May, ‘India is a democratic country. I believe in law and justice. I have been threatened before, but if I am wrong then I will apologize, if not wrong then I will not apologize.
Earlier, he said in Kerala on May 28- what I said was with love and this is what many historians have taught me. We are a family and languages are part of it. This is not an answer from my side, but an explanation. Love will not apologize.
Kamal Haasan’s film ‘Thug Life’ is scheduled to release on 5 June.
Kamal pointed to Kannada actor On May 24, during the promotion event of the film ‘Thug Life’, Kamal made a comment by pointing to Kannada actor Shiv Rajkumar. He pointed to the prince and said- ‘Shiva Rajkumar is like my family, so he is here. I started my talk with life, relationship and Tamil. Your language (Kannada) has come out of Tamil, so you are also our part. ‘

CM of Karnataka said- Kamal Haasan does not know the history of Kannada Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is leading the Congress government in Karnataka, criticized Kamal Haasan for commenting on Kannada language on 28 May. He had said, ‘The history of Kannada is very old. Poor Kamal Haasan is not aware of this.
Kamal said- Historians taught me the history of language On the criticism of Karnataka CM, Kamal Haasan said in Kerala that many historians have taught me the history of language. Politicians are not eligible to talk about language. They do not have the ability to talk about it, I am also involved in it. We should leave discussions on these serious issues to historians, archaeologists and language experts.
BJP said- actor insulted Kannada language Along with the Congress, the BJP also criticized the actor’s statement. In Karnataka, BJP state president Vijayendra Yeddyurappa said that insulting the language of others is a rude behavior. It is the arrogance of Kamal Haasan that he worked in many languages including Kannada, but he has insulted Kannada language by including actor Shiva Rajkumar in the glorification of Tamil language.
There is a dispute between the Central Government and the Tamil Nadu government over the TRAI Language Policy. Under the New Education Policy 2020, it was recommended that students could learn 3 languages, but no language has been made mandatory. States and schools have the freedom to decide which 3 languages they want to teach. The Tamil Nadu government is opposing Hindi language.
Haasan said- Tamils lost their lives for language, do not play with it On February 21, Kamal Haasan had also said- Tamil language is his cultural identity over the Tri Language (Tamil, Hindi and English) controversy. People have lost their lives for this. Do not play with it.
On the 8th Foundation Day of his party Makkal Nidhi Mayyam in Chennai, Haasan said- the language issue should not be taken lightly. The children of Tamil Nadu also know which language they need. They have their own understanding.
