Before the Lord’s Test, Ben Stokes captain said, ‘I think Jofra has played a lot of cricket in the last two and a half years after the return. He has played cricket with a white ball for England and has also played a first class match for Sussex. He felt very good playing.
Stokes said in the defense of this England cricketer born in Barbados, ‘Whenever you land on the field, you always put yourself at risk. This is a professional game. We all know that something can happen but if we do not think he can perform well, we do not choose it. Stokes said that the enthusiasm and determination that Archer has shown to return to the Test team is a commendable compliment. He said, ‘The way he has done well while battling injuries in the recent past is a commendable compliment.’
