New Delhi. The Department of Telecommunications (DOT) has announced some changes in the process of converting the mobile plan from prepaid to postpaid and postpaid to prepaid. In a recently issued directive, the department said that it is significantly reducing the cooldown period, so that users will be able to convert their mobile plan at first 30 days from prepaid or postpaid to prepaid. This new directive changes the order issued on 21 September 2021, in which the duration was 90 days.
Previously, users of Airtel, BSNL, Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea had to wait 3 months or 90 days to change their mobile plans. However, for any subsequent OTP-based changes, the cool-off period will be 90 days.
