Lyricist Javed Akhtar said in Mumbai on Saturday- I get abuses from fundamentalists on both India and Pakistan. One says- You are Kafir, will go to Jahnum (hell). The other says jihadi goes to Pakistan. Now if I have only the choice of Pakistan and Jahnum i.e. hell, then I would like to go to hell, not Pakistan.
He was speaking at the launch event of the book Narkatala heaven. He said- Just like a assembly in any democracy, a parliament is needed, a party with different ideologies is needed, honest media is needed. In the same way, there should also be people who do not belong to any party.
Say what they feel, whatever you feel bad, they can say. All the party should not be ours. I am also one of those people.
The result of this is that if you are talking on one side, then you will unhappy the same type of people, but if you are talking from all sides, then you make many people unhappy. If you meet you ever, I will show you Twitter, my WhatsApp, in which I get abuses from both sides.

Former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and his party Shiv Sena UBT spokesperson Sanjay Raut also attended this event.
Javed Akhtar said, ‘It is not that I will be very thankful and do not say that many people also praise, many people also increase courage, praise. But it is also true that the extremist that I have from here abuses and also abuses the extremist. This is right. If one of them stopped abusing, then I will have trouble what I am messing up.
Javed Akhtar’s statements given on Pakistan after Operation Sindoor
Pakistan said the root of terrorism: At a FICCI program in Delhi after Operation Sindoor, Javed Akhtar said- ‘Where do the terrorists come from? No one comes from Germany. We are associated with their boundaries and this cannot be ignored. The phenomenon of Pahalgam should be a significant turn. When such incidents occur frequently, stress is bound to be. In almost every few days or every year, some such sad incident comes to light.
Javed Akhtar, while furthering his point, said that ‘How is it possible to communicate with Pakistan when he refused to take the bodies of his own soldiers during the Kargil war. He also said that even today 99 percent of Jammu and Kashmir people are loyal to India.

He said in an interview to Kapil Sibal, ‘I saw his speech on YouTube. He is a very insensitive man. If Indians feel bad, then you abuse us, no problem, but why are you abusing Hindus? Hindus also live in your country, even if there are less. Shouldn’t they be respected? ‘
Let us tell you that even before this, Javed Akhtar had raised his voice against Pakistan after Operation Sindoor. At the same time, he also justified Pakistani artists’s decision to ban India. He had said that the India-Pakistan relationship is unilateral, as Pakistani artists were respected in India, but Pakistan never respected Indian actors.
Ban of Pakistani artists said the right decision: After the Pahalgam attack, Javed Akhtar said in an interview to PTI on the ban on Pakistani artists that whatever happened in the present time, after that the question should not be asked whether they are okay to ban or not. Because now friendly feeling for Pakistan is completely over. Along with this, he has said that it is completely unilateral to give Pakistani artists a chance to work in India as Lata Mangeshkar has not been allowed to have a performance in Pakistan till date. He has completely denied the way this unilateral work.
