Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday flagged off Vande India, the first train in Kashmir in Katra. During this program, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said- I am confident that soon Jammu and Kashmir will get full state status at the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Regarding the railway project, he said- Modi saheb many people saw the dreams of this rail. The British had also seen the dream of connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country, but they could not fulfill. Today the work which the British could not complete, your hands were completed. Kashmir joined the rest of the country.

Omar said- Vajpayee laid the foundation of railway project During the program, Omar Abdullah also remembered former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said- If I do not thank Vajpayee Saheb on this occasion, then it will be a big mistake. The foundation of this project was laid by him in 1983-84.
Umar told that I had laughed at the media recently that when this project started, I was a child of 8th class. Today I am 55 years old, my children have also passed college. Now this project was completed. This happened when Vajpayee Saheb gave the project the status of national importance. Its provision was given in the budget.
Vande Bharat train will start tomorrow

The Northern Railway will start the Vande Bharat Service on the Katra-Srinagar route from 7 June. Ticket booking can be done on IRCTC website. 6 days a week, two trains will run between Katra and Srinagar.
Northern Railway said that the train has two travel classes. The fare for the chaircar is Rs 715 and the rent of the Executive Class is Rs 1320. Right now trains will stop only in Banihal, the decision on other stops will be taken later.
The journey of 10 hours will be completed in about 3 hours Even after 77 years of independence, Kashmir is cut off from other parts of the country in the snowfall season. The closure of the National Highway-44 stops to go to the valley. Apart from this, it used to take 8 to 10 hours to go from Jammu to Kashmir by road. With the start of the train, this journey will be completed in about three hours.
