In ISSF World Cup, Arjun Babuta missed the gold medal with a minor margin, won the silver medal. Rudraksh Patil and Arya Borsce won the silver medal in the mixed team. Istwan Penny of Hungary won a bronze medal.

Lima (Peru): Rudraksh Patil and Arya Borsce won the silver medal of the 10m air rifle mixed team event, while Indian shooter Arjun Babuta, who participated in the Paris Olympics, missed the gold medal in the men’s 10m air rifle event in the ISSF World Cup, which led to the golden medal in the men’s 10m air rifle event.
The pair of Rudraksh and Arya lost 11–17 to Norwegian Zone Harman Hague and Jenette Hague Dustad. Earlier, Babuta (252.3), who finished fourth in the Paris Olympics last year, lost to the current Olympic champion of China (252.4) by just 0.1 points in the thrilling final.
Hungary shooter Istwan Penny, who won more than 40 medals in the World Cup, won a bronze medal with a total score of 229.8. Several star shooters arrived in the final including the current world champion and Silver medalist Sweden’s Victor Lindgrain, John-Harman Hague of Norway and former world champion Rudraksh Patil of India.
India had a chance to win two medals, but unfortunately due to technical fault, Patil was not allowed to take his 11th shot. In this way, this Indian shooter finished eighth in the first elimination phase and finished eighth.
In the final, both Babuta and Patil made a strong start with the same 10.1. Patil won a gold medal in the World Cup at Buenos Aires last week, but this time luck was not with him and he had to start the final.
Babuta remained calm despite being out of Patil and he took the lead for the first time after the 14th shot. Sheng made a good comeback after this. Babuta had a slight lead of 0.3 points at one time, but took a target of 10.9 points in the Chinese shooter.
Babuta’s final score was not enough to gain 10.5 again, as Sheng made a gold medal with 10.3. Earlier in the qualification, Babuta scored a strong score of 631.9 in the first relay, while Sheng easily topped the 635.0.
Patil led the group by scoring 632.0 in the second relay and finished third. India’s heart Hazarika missed out on making it to the finals by a slight margin and finished 10th with a score of 629.3.
