New Delhi: India won the silver and bronze medal in the 10m air rifle mixed team event at the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) Junior World Cup in Suhal, Germany on Sunday.

India was successful in securing two podium positions for the second time in the tournament in two days. The pair of Narayan Pranav and Khyati Chaudhary won the silver while the pair of Himanshu and Shambhavi Kshirsagar won the bronze medal. India managed to reach a medal table with double digits (two gold, four silver, four bronze). Two more finals are to be held on the last day of the competition on Monday.

The pair of Khyati and Narayan secured the second position by securing 631.0 marks in the qualifying round of 38 teams. The pair were behind China’s Huang Yutting (Olympic champion of this event, Olympic medalist and senior air rifle world champion) and Huang Livanlin (Junior Air Rifle World Champion) pair. The China pair topped the top position with 632.6 points.

In the gold medal match, the Indian pair gave a tough fight to the Chinese pair. Teams teams were at a par with the 15th series at 14-14 points. The China pair won the 15th series by 0.5 to score 16 points and won the gold medal.

Himanshu and Shambhavi finished the right to play bronze medal match while finishing fourth in the qualifier with 629.5 points. The pair were 1-7 behind the pair of Griffin Lake and Eliza Spencer in America at one time in the third place match.

He made a strong comeback amid the danger of getting a medal out of hand and took a 13-7 lead. After this, the US team could win only one more series, but the Indian pair won the bronze medal with an easy win of 17-9.
