Yash Raj also doubted

He told, ‘When I heard its 8 -second referring… I knew that it would do wonders… but Yash Raj had put it on the last number… that it would be the least popular. Amitabh Bachchan had even said that do not shoot this song.

Jab Amitabh listening to the song- it will not work

The director further said that I was sure that this song would be a hit and he convinced Amitabh Bachchan to listen to it carefully. He said, ‘When I called him to listen… he said that it will not work.’ Amitabh Bachchan felt that the song needed a better creative input. He did all the jugalbandi in the song… all the parts from which it starts. I wanted him to sing it, but he refused and asked Shankar Mahadevan to sing it ‘. Although later Amitabh Bachchan said yes to sing, but there was doubt in his mind.

When Shad Kasa Tanj said- ‘This is the item song’

Shad recalled, ‘Later, he was shooting a song for a film, maybe’ Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna ‘or something, I don’t remember properly and he said,’ This is the item song. ‘ However, after the release of the film, the song became very popular and Amitabh Bachchan apologized to Shad for doubting his creativity.
