The Inter Service Organization Bill was introduced and passed in Parliament in the monsoon session two years ago.
Only one officer will now be able to take action on the soldiers of the three armies in the country. The Inter Service Organization Rules have been implemented from 27 May. The central government also issued its notification.
With the enactment of new laws, a commander-in-chief/officer-in-command will be appointed under the Inter Service Organization. This commander will be able to control the soldiers, take action. Then the soldier is associated with any army.
The law was made after the President’s approval The Inter Service Organization Bill was introduced and passed in Parliament in the monsoon session two years ago. After the President’s approval on 15 August 2023, it was implemented from 10 May 2024. The government has also officially notified the new rules through the Gazette.
3 changes from new rules …
1. Command Now: Under the new rule, now any service officer (eg officer of Army) will be able to command any other service (such as Navy or Air Force) working in the Inter Service Organization.
First: Earlier these types of rights were limited only within the relevant service. Due to which there were obstacles in operation many times. For example, the Navy officer could order only the Navy soldiers.
2. Control Now: Under the new rule, all the soldiers associated with the Inter Service Organization will be able to control under one officer. Administrative power will be given to a concerned officer. He can take decisions related to any army (Army, Navy, Air Force) personnel.
First: The old rule was prepared keeping in mind the unique working environment of the specific service. In such a situation, the jawan needed to be sent back to his parents service units for administrative action. It not only used to take more time, but due to the movement of the young man, money was also spent.
3. Discipline Now: The new rule helps to unite soldiers of a unit or Establishment. In such a situation, when any case of indiscipline comes up, the decision can be taken soon about it.
First: If there is indiscipline somewhere, then in the case of that indiceiplin, there were processedings at three different places. When there are processing in three different places, it may be that its results also come out in three different ways.
