The Indian challenge at the Indonesia Open ended.

New Delhi. Indian badminton players did not perform well at Indonesia Open. No players could reach the semi -finals. India’s top men’s doubles team of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty fell out of the Indonesia Open Super 1000 badminton tournament after losing to Malaysia’s man Wei Chong and T Kai Wun in the quarter -finals on Friday. The Indian pair, who won the title in 2023, lost 19-21, 16-21 in a 43-minute match against the Malaysian pair. This is the first win against the Indian pair in five matches of the Malaysia team.

The Indian challenge in the competition also ended with the defeat of Satvik-Chirag. The Indian pair had to struggle in their service and returns. Man and Vun won Malaysia Masters last month and Indonesia Masters in January. In the first game, Satwik hit two shots on the net, leading to the Malaysian team 9-7. He was ahead 11-9 till the interval. The Indian pair then showed a little aggressive game and equaled 11–11, but Man and Vun took a 15–12 lead.

The Malaysian players hit a shot on the net twice, after which the Indians made a comeback to equal the score 17-17, but they could not take advantage of it. Satvik again missed the net and gave the game point to the Malaysian team. In the second game too, the Indian team did not start well and she was trailing 3-7 at one time. The Malaysian team also played well after this and made the difference between the two teams 15-9.

The Indian pair, however, was not ready to give up easily and soon reduced the score to 16–18. The Malaysia team, however, won four matches points after this and won the semi -finals by winning without any hassle.
