The Indian Army may soon get a new air defense system. According to defense officials, the Ministry of Defense is considering buying three regiments of the Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile System (QRSAM) for deployment at China and Pakistan border. This deal will be ₹ 30 thousand crore.
Qrsam has been tested in both day and night. According to officials, the defense system has been prepared by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). It can be moved from one place to another.
The QRSAM system has a capacity to find, search and fire in a short time. With a range of about 30 km, the Medium Rage Surface to Air Missile System (MRSAM) and Akash will support the existing air defense system in less distance than Qrsam Medium.
The council meeting to include this defense system in the army may be held in the fourth week of June. Currently, India has air defense systems like Akashtir, S-400 systems and iron drones.
