The monsoon has reached 5 states of the country. After covering Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu on 24 May, the monsoon has covered the entire part of Goa and Maharashtra on 25 May.

Monsoon arrived in Maharashtra on Sunday after 35 years before the scheduled time. The monsoon in the state usually entered around 5 June. This time arrived 10 days ago. Earlier, it arrived on 20 May in 1990.

Monsoon rains have started in western Maharashtra. Pune district received heavy rains on Sunday. Clouds erupted in Patus area on Pune-Solpur highway. Due to this, many river-streams suddenly came in spate.

Many vehicles were swept away here, tractors also drowned in water. Flood situation occurred in Baramati and Indapur in Pune. Here 2 teams of NDRF have been deployed for rescue.

Baramati in Pune received 83.6mm rainfall, while Indapur recorded 35.7mm rainfall. Rain water had entered 70 villages in Indapur and 150 houses in Baramati.

Heavy rains continue in Kerala. The tree fell on the moving train in Thrissur. A tree fell on a person while driving a scooter in Kozhikode, killing him. Brothers and sisters died due to electrocution in Kidanchery. School-colleges are closed in 9 districts of the state.

At the same time, there is rain alert in 27 districts in UP today. This is the first time in 15 years when the heat will not run even a day in 9 days of Nautapa. On the first day of Nautapa, 20 districts received heavy rains.

Launching of India Forecast System

The Government of India will launch the Advance India Forecast System (BFS) today. Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh will hand over it to the country. This system will help the panchayat level in disaster management, farming, water management and public safety.

The BFS system will give more accurate and smallest information about the weather than ever. It has been prepared by Pune’s Indian Indian Institute and Tropical Metrological (IITM).

The BFS system will estimate the weather at a resolution of 6 km, which is the best in the world. This will allow small weather events such as rain, storm more accurate than before. M Ravichandran, secretary of the Ministry of Earth Science, said that now the weather forecast will be more local and accurate than before.

He informed that earlier supercomputers Pratyush was being used, but now the new supercomputer Arka will be used. Pratyush used to take 10 hours to run the weather model, while Arca completes the work in just 4 hours. This system takes data from 40 Doppler radars and will be better with 100 radars in the future. This will make it possible for 2 hours local forecasting.
