Coffee before gym good or bad: Today’s younger generation is very aware of fitness. Going to the gym in the morning and evening and working for hours has become a part of his routine. But in the desire to get muscles and stamina rapidly, many youth take such steps which can cause huge harm instead of benefiting health. Consumption of caffeinated drinks or coffee has become a common practice before or during the gym. Its purpose is to boost stemina, but according to experts, this method can prove to be dangerous.
Dr. Nityanand Tripathi, a cardiologist at Fortis Hospital, New Delhi, says that if you suddenly do a very hard workout in the gym and also consume coffee or caffeinated drinks, then it can become a serious threat to the heart. The caffeine present in coffee increases the adrenaline hormones in the body rapidly, which makes the heartbeat very fast. If a person’s arteries are already weak or have plaque deposits, then this situation can cause heart attack.
Energy drinks increases dehydration and blood pressure
Most energy drinks contain huge amounts of caffeine. When youth consume them before or during exercise, it increases body temperature and dehydration starts due to frequent urination. As a result, blood pressure can increase abnormally. If there is already a plaque up to 30-40% in the arteries, then it can burst and there is a risk of suddenly becoming a blood clot, which directly increases the chances of heart attack.
Those who are starting fitness, they should not do heavy workouts. Gradually increasing stemina is the safest method. The time and intensity of exercise should be increased gradually according to the stamina of the body.
Say caffeinated drinks, do not say healthy diet yes
Take nutrition rich and healthy diet instead of energy drinks and coffee. Protein, fruits, green vegetables and adequate amounts of water keep the body hydrated and strong. If necessary, make diet and workout routine after consulting a physical trainer or nutritionist. If you really want to be fit then start safely, take a healthy diet and avoid caffeine -rich drinks.
