She also shared the sweet memories of her late step father Ahmed Mirza, who married Diya’s mother Deepa when she was just 6 years old. Recalling his bond with him, he said, ‘When Abba married his mother, I started calling him Abba. In my child’s heart and small mind, I used to accept them very much. However, despite not being externally expressed, Diya said that over time, her family gradually helped them to open. And he was not one of those who put it, but gradually we managed to hug them. The actress said, the most touching memory that she remembered was her last meeting before going abroad in 2003. He said, ‘I will never forget that they hugged me and while saying goodbye, they had tears in their eyes.’ Ahmed died during that visit, which made the farewell even more meaningful.
Diya’s parents were divorced when she was 4 years old

His mother got married again after two years. Diya herself married Sahil Sangha in 2014, but in 2019 he separated. In February 2021, she married businessman Vaibhav Rekhi, and a few months later she welcomed her son Avyan Azad Rekhi.
