New Delhi. Bollywood star Sunny Deol’s film ‘Jat’ is ready for release. After this he will be seen in ‘Lahore: 1947’. Aamir Khan is producing this movie and Rajkumar Santoshi has taken the responsibility of direction. Sunny Deol talked about this film at Rising Bharat Summit 2025 of News18.
Sunny Deol said that Aamir Khan is the first person to show interest in producing this film, after which this project could be started. He said, ‘Lahore is a new play, on which we were trying to make a film for many years. But there was no success. Therefore, it was difficult to make it financially. As soon as the Gadar went on, we were very happy that now someone will make it and Aamir was the first person who came forward and said- Sunny, I want to make this film.
Aamir Khan extended his hand for the film
He further said, ‘I said why not, we were waiting to do this film and Raj (Rajkumar Santoshi) and we have done three films and then have not done anything for many years, then people from the perspective of fans would like to see us together, so this series started in this way.’

Sunny Deol’s film ‘Lahore: 1947’ Asghar Wajahat Ke Popular Play ‘Jin Lahore Nai Dekhya, O Jamaayi Ni’ is based. Its story revolves around a Muslim family, which goes from Lucknow to Lahore during partition and is allotted a mansion, which was left by a Hindu family. A big turn in the story comes when they find an elderly Hindu woman in the mansion, who refuses to leave.
