Regarding this, the government has already instructed the states to be vigilant and make necessary preparations. Meanwhile, Dr. Naveen Kumar, director of ICMR i.e. Indian Council of Medical Research and NIV Pune (National Institute of Virology), has said that the new variant of Kovid has come out is not deadly, but it is not being taken lightly. Dr. Naveen Kumar said that this new variant of Kovid was first found in South Asia, especially in Singapore and now the same strain has been seen in India. He said that this variant is spreading rapidly but its symptoms are light and no serious threat has been confirmed so far.

NIV Pune’s continuous monitoring

Dr. Kumar said that since the beginning of Kovid, the ICMR-NIV is closely monitoring the Pune virus. The institute is constantly being done by the genomic sequencing (ie the texture and change of the virus). He said that we have increased the number of samples taken daily so that the changes of the virus can be caught immediately. Dr. Naveen Kumar also said that as soon as any new instructions are received from the Ministry of Health, their team is ready to take action. He assured that the entire team of NIV is in alert mode and every small change of virus is being monitored.

Kovid never ended completely
Dr. Naveen Kumar, director of ICMR-NIV, said that we do not advise to panic but it is very important to be vigilant. The virus may have become weak but it has not gone. Dr. Kumar said that people should understand that Kovid has never ended completely. Its cases were reduced but the virus remained between us. Its new variants will continue to come at the time which reminds us of being vigilant. According to ICMR-NIV, the situation is currently under control, but the virus is constantly being monitored. The scientific institutions and governments of the country are working together so that no big threat can be made.
