His first film ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’ was directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan. Recently, Rakesh Roshan’s daughter Sunaina Roshan told how much father had put at stake to launch Hrithik.
In the interview given to News18 English, Sunaina Roshan spoke openly about the difficulties caused during the journey of filmmaker father Rakesh Roshan. He said, ‘We were very young, especially when Papa started his acting career. As a producer, he said that he had pledged his house, vehicles and offices twice during Khudgarj. He took great risk in his life, but he was very fearless.
Rakesh Roshan did not tell children
Sunaina also told Roshan that his father never brought his work home and the children did not know what is going on in Rakesh’s life. He said, ‘We never came to know his side, because they never showed us what we are facing. The childhood of both me and my brother was very peaceful.

He further said, ‘We never had to face the talk of people about our background, because the time was very different. Thank God that there was no social media then and Papa himself did not earn such a big name.
Rakesh Roshan mortgaged home
Earlier, Rakesh Roshan spoke about financial struggle. He said in an interview with mid-day, ‘Hrithik never came to know, I never told him. Only my wife knew about it. I said that I am mortgaging the house. If needed, I will take money, otherwise I will try to handle it. But it happened that everything happened in the funds I had. If the film does not perform well, I would have to shift elsewhere, but I took that chance.
