This is under the new public gambling Prevention Act-2025. MPL opinio has stopped operations in Haryana earlier this week. The new law makes the operation of these apps a crime within Haryana. It also classifies them as public gambling activities.
The Public Gambling Prevention Act, 2025 only exempts skill games, but does not clearly involve fantasy sports or opinion trading. This has created a situation of legal uncertainty.

1. 3 years jailed for match-spot fixing
The Act, especially in sports, strict steps have been taken to deal with match fixing and spot fixing. There is a minimum sentence of 3 years, which can be increased to 5 years. There is also a fine, which starts from Rs 5 lakh. Not only this, those who commit crime can be jailed for up to 7 years.
2. Separate definition for sutting
In the Act of Haryana, betting is roughly defined as oral, written or contained, any compromise. A compromise that is based on the results of uncertain events and where predictions cause financial or physical loss when failure fails. Opinion trading apps are also in the realm.
