He was only Mahendra Singh Dhoni, under whose captaincy India captured the top position in the Test rankings for 18 consecutive months. He has commanded his country in more international matches than any other captain. Mahendra Singh Dhoni captained India in 332 matches in all three formats from 2007 to 2018, winning 178 matches. At the end of 2019, he was included in the ICC’s ‘ODI and T20 Team of the Dicked’. He has recently been included in the ‘ICC Hall of Fame’.
However, Dhoni did not listen to Pervez Musharraf and got a haircut after winning the T20 World Cup in 2007. After this, he never kept so long hair again. Dhoni is also called the captain with ‘Midas Touch’. Whether in the final over of the T20 World Cup-2007 final over, Joginder Sharma is talking about the ball, or sending Yuvraj Singh for batting above in the 2011 World Cup- Dhoni has got luck on many occasions.
Dhoni, who started his international career in December 2004, played 90 Tests for India. In which he scored 4,876 runs with six centuries and 33 half -centuries. At the same time, Dhoni has 10,773 runs in 350 ODIs. Fans could hardly forget his unbeaten 183 innings against Sri Lanka. Mahi also played 98 T20 matches internationally, scoring 1,617 runs. In 2008 and 2009, ‘ICC Mains ODI Cricketer of the Year’ Dhoni ‘Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award’ has been honored. Apart from this, he has also been awarded the ‘Padma Shri’ and ‘Padma Bhushan’ awards. Dhoni said goodbye to international cricket on 15 August 2020. He still plays for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. Whether or not he will play in the next IPL, nothing can be said right now.
