The Rajasthan government on Friday heard a leve-to-appeal in the black deer hunting case in the High Court. It has challenged the decision to acquit actor Saif Ali Khan, actress Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre. Justice Manoj Kumar Garg’s court

According to Advocate Mahipal Vishnoi, black deer were hunted during the shooting of the film Hum Saath Saath in Kankani village of Jodhpur on 1 October 1998. In the case, the trial court sentenced actor Salman Khan to five years on 5 April 2018. In this case, co -accused film actor Saif Ali Khan, actress Neelam, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Dushyant Singh were acquitted giving the benefit of doubt.

The state government’s appeal will also include the permission of transfer petition and the case related to actor Salman Khan’s punishment will also be included. The case will be heard on July 28, in which all related cases will be heard simultaneously.

Along with Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam were also called several times in the case.

What happened in cases due to deer hunting so far?

1. Kankani Village Case: On 5 April 2018, actor Salman Khan was sent to Jodhpur Central Jail for conviction. However, on 7 April 2018, the District and Sessions Court gave Salman Khan a conditional bail on a bond of Rs 50,000 and he was released on the same day. Currently, he is on bail in this case. At the same time, hearing is pending in the High Court regarding this matter.

2. Horse Farm House Case: The case was sentenced to 5 years by the CJM court on 10 April 2006 in this case. Salman went to the High Court against it. He was acquitted by the High Court on 25 July 2016. The state government had appealed against this decision to the Supreme Court. Hearing is pending.

3. Bhavad Village Case: In this case, the CJM court convicted Salman on 17 February 2006 and sentenced him to one year. The High Court also acquitted Salman in this case. The state government had appealed against the verdict in the Supreme Court. Hearing is pending.

4. Arms Case: Salman was acquitted by the court on 18 January 2017 in this case. The state government appealed against this decision in the High Court. Hearing is pending.
