New Delhi. Google is intensifying efforts to bring its employees back to the office. The company has urged employees living within a radius of 50 miles to adopt hybrid work models. This change applies to the teams of main areas such as core, marketing, research, knowledge and information (K&I) and Communications. The K&I team, which is responsible for products like Google search, commerce and advertisements, will be greatly affected by this change.
To support this transition, Google is introducing a voluntary exit program for some American employees, as stated in the Business Insider’s report. Employees who choose the option to leave, will get a serving package. The Google spokesperson said that this option is to help the company focus on future initiatives and similar programs have given positive results in other teams.
The memo released by a senior Google executive has issued the need for better connectivity and cooperation between the teams of the company, especially in view of the increasing importance of AI.

Earlier this year, Alphabet’s Google trimmed hundreds of employees from its platform and device unit, including Android software, Pixel phones and working on Chrome browser. This retrenchment took place in January after a byout offers given to the employees of the same unit. A Google spokesperson said that these layoffs were part of an attempt to streamline operations and increase efficiency, as well as with a voluntary exit program initiated at the beginning of the year.
Amazon also finished WFH policy
E-commerce legend Amazon has also eliminated the “Work from Home” policy for his employees. In a memo sent to the employees, Amazon’s CEO Andy-like announced that the employees would now return to the full time work from office and with this pre-metings have also been finished. As is especially mentioned, pre-metings are unnecessary for decision meetings. He called it a waste of time. He argued that such unnecessary meetings slow down the decision -making process and waste valuable time.
