Many people were installed two doses of Kovid vaccine, while some people were also installed booster doses of Kovid vaccine. Many times questions were also raised on the effectiveness of the covid vaccine and it was said that this increased the cases of heart attack. However, health experts dismissed these things outright. Now a new study has come out about the covid vaccine, in which scientists said that since the formation of the vaccine, how many people have been saved from it. If you also have the question in your mind that how much Korona vaccine has saved, then you should know about this study.
25 million lives left due to covid vaccine
The elderly benefited the most
The study found that people above 60 years of age got the biggest advantage of Kovid vaccine. 90% of deaths from Covid vaccine were protected from people of this age. Out of the 1.48 crore lives rescued from the vaccine, 76% of the lives are associated with the elderly. It was also learned that 82% of the people who had received the vaccine before were infected with the virus could be saved. Also, at the time of Omikron variant, ie, in an important period of epidemic, 57% of deaths were prevented.
Children and youth benefited less
The benefit of covid vaccination was found to be very limited among children and adolescents. The number of lives saved for people between the ages of 0 to 19 was only 0.01%, while the figure was 0.1% in terms of life. Similarly, only 0.07% deaths and 0.3% life-year could be saved in 20 to 29 years old. The reason for this is that the risk of death from Kovid-19 in these age classes was already lower.
How was this study done?
The study was led by Professor Stephania Boacha, who is a professor in Universe Katolika. Dr. Angelo Maria Pagollo and Dr. Antonio Christiano worked together with him. Both researchers were also working at Stanford University under a European research project. He gathered and analyzed data related to Kovid infection and vaccination from all over the world. He tried to understand how much deaths could have happened if there was no covid vaccination.
Why is this study special?
This research is considered special because this is the first such study that has been done globally and includes the entire epidemic period (2020 to 2024). In this, the effect of Omikron variant infection before and after the effect of vaccine and people who were vaccinated and not felt, have been comparatively analyzed. Also, this study is not only limited to the number of deaths, but it shows how many years of life was saved.
