New Delhi: After Lockie Ferguson, Glenn Maxwell has also been out of IPL 2025. Punjab Kings all -rounder Maxwell suffered injuries before the last match canceled against Kolkata Knight Riders. He was dismissed by scoring seven runs in that match. But now Punjab Kings are having trouble in choosing the replacement of Maxwell.
In fact, Punjab head coach Ricky Ponting mentioned the Pakistan Super League for the difficulties faced by Glenn Maxwell’s replacement. He blamed the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for not getting high quality players for the replacement of Maxwell. Read below what Ponting said-
‘We have to play some more matches right now. Right now we are looking for options from the available players. We have Ajmatullah Umarjai, Aaron Hardy and Xavier Bartlet. We make team combinations according to the situation. We will decide on the option. PSL is also happening at the same time. To be honest, there are not very high-quality replacements. So we are working patiently. We are also monitoring Indian talents and we are seeing how we can use some young Indian players. We will really take some people with us to Dharamshala. We are keeping a close watch on them. It may be that they should later contract with Punjab. Replacements will be fixed before the 12th match.
