New Delhi. Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of India’s Men’s Cricket Team, has returned to England’s Leeds and joined the team before the first Test starting on Friday. Gambhir returned to India last week as his mother was admitted to the hospital due to poor health. Gambhir left the team before an intra-skavad match in Bekenham and in his absence, assistant coach Ryan Ten Doshet took responsibility.
Under the new captaincy of Shubman Gill, this series will begin a new era in India’s Test cricket, as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin have retired from this format in the last few months. Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is now one of the senior members of this youth team and is part of the leadership group with Gill, he has been appointed as vice-captains.
On Wednesday, Pant talked about his friendship with the captain of India and coordination with him on the field. “I think I and Shubman are very good friends outside the ground. If you are a good friend outside the field, then its effect is also seen on the field. It is something that I have always believed. The first Test will begin in Leeds from 20 June.
