London. The Indian women’s hockey team made good efforts to return after falling behind by three goals against Australia in the FIH Pro League match here on Saturday but finally lost 2-3. Australia took a 3–0 lead with the help of a goal of courtney Shonel (16th minute), Lexy Pickering (26th minute) and a goal on a penalty stroke of Tatm Stewart (35th minute).
After this, in the 13th minute, Australian goalkeeper Elisha Power failed India’s efforts by making brilliant defense. Taking advantage of India’s defense mistake, Shonel scored a goal by taking advantage of the mistake of India’s defense. 10 minutes later, Australia doubled its lead with a goal of pill. Australia dominated the first two quarters and took a 2–0 lead by half time.
India soon acquired two more penalty corners, but both went in vain. Eight minutes before the final hooter, India got another penalty corner and this time Neha scored from the rebound. Two minutes before the match ended, India had an equal chance at a penalty corner but missed it.
