Sasaram Jyoti Kumari has illuminated the name of not only her family but the entire district with the passion and hard work of her game. Jyoti, a resident of Belladhi village of Municipal Corporation Sasaram, has been selected in the Bihar Women’s Hockey Team. Now she is representing Bihar in the 15th Hockey India Senior Women’s Hockey Championship in Haryana. The story of his reaching this point is full of struggle and resolve.
Jyoti comes from an ordinary farmer family. His father Anil Singh works to build a gate-grill along with farming, which leads to the maintenance of the family. But, Jyoti never let the circumstances come in the way of her dreams. She became Sasaram’s first female hockey player to make her place in the state level team.
Sher Shah is studying from college
Jyoti completed her early education from Baladhi, a nervous higher secondary school, and is currently getting higher education from Sher Shah College. His dedication to the game and his interest in studies make him different from others. His selection has also encouraged other hockey players of the district.
During a special conversation with Local 18, Jyoti’s grandfather Ram Basistha Singh said, ‘Our family and the whole village are feeling proud due to selection in the hockey team. Those who stop their daughters from playing and reading are making a big mistake.
At the same time, father Anil Singh shared his feelings and said, ‘Jyoti had an inclination towards the game since childhood. Initially I stopped him from playing hockey, but seeing his stubbornness and hard work, I had to give up. Now that she is moving forward, I just want that she should play for the country and illuminate the name of the family.
BBA studies
Elder sister Radha Kumari told that Jyoti was expert in playing and playing since childhood. When he expressed his desire to play hockey, I fully supported him. She is also smart in studies and is currently doing BBA.
This achievement of Jyoti has also increased the courage of other young hockey players of the district. Now many more girls are also taking inspiration to make a career in hockey. Sports lovers of the district hope that Jyoti will make her mark at the national and international level in the coming times and will increase the pride of Bihar.
