India has won its biggest Test victory on foreign soil. In this victory, fast bowler Akash Deep had an important role, who took 6 wickets in the second innings and 4 wickets in the first innings. Bihar -born Akash Deep took a total of 10 wickets in the second Test. While captain Shubman Gill contributed to India’s victory by hitting double century in the first innings and century in the second innings.
With the brilliant bowling of Akash Deep (187/10) of Sasaram in Bihar, India won the historic victory by defeating England by 336 runs on the fifth and last day of the second cricket Test to break the 58 -year -old myth in Edgbaston. India equalized the five-match series 1–1 in this way. England won the first Test in Leeds by 5 wickets.
In the absence of star bowler Jasprit Bumrah, 28 -year -old Akashdeep took six wickets for 99 runs in England’s second innings, impressing the big stage. Due to which the hosts chased the impossible target of 608 runs, the team was reduced to 271 runs. During this victory, India scored runs with a century in both innings of captain Shubman Gill (269 runs and 161 runs), while Akash Deep is also entitled to amazing bowling on the batting pitch.
Due to rain, the fifth and last day’s game started with a delay of one hour and 40 minutes, which reduced the day’s over to 80. England started playing ahead by 72 runs for three wickets.
