Washington: The whole world was afraid of what happened. US President Donald Trump has announced a new tariff. After the tariff announcement of Trump, a peculiar news is coming out for India. It was earlier told that the US has imposed a 26 percent recipe on India, but now it is being said that India will be charged not 26 but 27 percent. The US President stood in the White House garden and announced the tariff. Actually, during this announcement he showed a poster. There was a list on this poster, in which it was told how much tariff is placed on which country.
Trump said that India imposes 52 percent tax on their goods. He showed the poster and said that India will have 26 percent tariff. Apart from this, the White House has released a list on its official X account, which shows that India has been imposed 26 percent tariff. But now reports are coming that in the official order of the White House, India will be imposed a tariff of 27 percent, not 26 but 27 percent. The official document will be considered correct, in such a situation it is certain that India will be charged not 26 percent but 27 percent.
There may be an opportunity for India!
Ajay Srivastava, the founder of Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI), said that the tariff on behalf of Trump can be a chance to strengthen its position in global trade and manufacturing for India. He said that 25 percent tax will be levied on goods exported from India like steel, aluminum and auto. Pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, copper and energy products will be exempted from tariffs. For the remaining products, India will have a 27 percent recipe tariff. He said that countries like China (54), Vietnam (46) have been taxed much more than India. This relatively low tax on Indian goods can give India an edge in many areas.
