Veterinarian Harsh Gagwani told News18 local that if the dog bites should not be done before showing the doctor, such as turmeric-chilli, caustic powder, lime or turpentine oil on the wound. This may increase the risk of infection.

Dr. Gagwani further states that if someone bites a dog, then one should not panic first. Immediately the place where the dog is bitten should be washed thoroughly with soap and clean water. This process reduces the risk of infection to a great extent. After this, it is very important to reach the nearest hospital without losing time and see a doctor and get anti rabies vaccine.

Anti rabies are treated according to a certain schedule. It consists of a total of five doses. The first dose is applied with tetanus injection immediately after cutting. The second dose is three days later, the third seventh day, the fourth 14th day and the fifth i.e. the last dose on the 28th day. It is very important to complete this entire process, as the risk of rabies increases by leaving the treatment in the middle.
