New Delhi: Veteran actress Moushumi Chatterjee and her husband Jayant Mukherjee lost their first daughter Payal in 2019. Payal died at the age of 45 after a long battle with diabetes and she was in a coma two years before her death. At that time, he was married to businessman Dicky Sinha. In a recent conversation, Moushumi renewed his daughter’s memories and told how his family has still not recovered from this loss.
Mummi spoke openly about Payal’s in -laws
Moushumi also spoke openly about his differences with his former son -in -law Dicky Sinha. According to an old report by India Today, there was estrangement after a dispute between the two families over a business cooperation. In 2018, Moushumi filed a petition in the Bombay High Court, appealing to be appointed as Payal’s parents. He accused Dicky and Payal’s in -laws of ignoring their medical needs.

Moushumi also alleged that Payal’s in -laws refused to pay their medical bills and prevented him from meeting his daughter during his illness. In an interview given to Nayandeep Rakshit, he said, ‘I don’t think my husband has completely recovered from Payal’s death. I have not been able to recover from it either. This emptiness will remain throughout our life. Moushumi described the experience of going to court to meet her ailing daughter as a torture and explained how the incident also influenced her younger daughter Megha Chatterjee and her husband, who was allegedly ‘insulted’ by Payal’s in -laws.
Seasonal could not recover from Payal’s death
The actress said, ‘We are not able to recover from this grief. When a child dies, no one can recover from him. Payal was very cute towards Megha because there was a difference of eight years in her age. Talking about Jayant’s emotional situation after Payal’s death, Moushumi said, ‘Sometimes he used to get up at night and shout Payal’s name. You cannot describe these things in words. Moushumi accused Payal’s in -laws and husband of neglect, while Dicky had earlier accused the veteran actor of not attending Payal’s funeral or not going to meet him in the mortuary.

In an earlier interview with Spotboy, Dicky said, ‘Moushumi did not even see her face after Payal’s death. She was not in the funeral; She neither came to the mortuary. However, during her recent conversation, Moushumi denied it and shared that she actually went to the mortuary after Payal’s death. He also revealed that Payal’s body was kept in Morgue because the hospital bill was not paid. He said, ‘When she is no more, I went to the hospital. He was kept in the mortuary as the hospital bill was not repaid. I tolerated all that nonsense. Moushumi said, ‘You learn from these things how many types of people are on this earth.’
