New Delhi: The magic of Sunil Naren and Varun Chakraborty’s spin, Kolkata Knight Riders alive their hopes of making a place in the play -off by defeating Delhi Capitals by 14 runs on the night of 29 April in the Indian Premier League. Despite this defeat, Delhi’s team remains at number four with 12 points in 10 matches.
Knight Riders are at the seventh position with nine points in 10 matches. This is the third defeat in Delhi’s last four matches. Chasing a target of 205 runs from Knight Riders, Delhi needed 59 runs to win in the last five overs. Naren, who came to throw his last over of the innings and throwing his last over, overturned the match by dismissing Faf Duplessis.
Faf Duplessis, who scored 62 off 44 balls, caught Rinku on Deep Midwick while trying to play a big shot off the ball of Naren, which caused Delhi’s hopes. Earlier, Sunil Naren had earlier dismissed Delhi’s back by dismissing Akshar Patel (43 off 23 balls) and Triston Stabs (1) in the same over.

Earlier, Angkrish Raghuvanshi (44 runs, 32 balls, three fours, two sixes) and Rinku Singh (36 runs, 25 balls, three fours, one six) played excellent innings for the Knight Riders. Openers Naren (27), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (26) and captain Ajinkya Rahane (26) also scored runs.
