Three daughters of Rajasthan, who performed brilliantly in the Under-17 Wrestling World Championship under the leadership of Rajasthan Wrestling Association President Rajiv Dutta, were visited to Parliament House. Ashwin won gold in 65 kg category and Komal Verma won bronze medal in 49 kg freestyle.
New Delhi: Rajasthan Wrestling Association President Rajiv Dutta visited the Parliament House of the young players, Ashwin and Komal Verma, who performed brilliantly in the Under-17 Wrestling World Championship. During this time, both the players got an opportunity to meet Union Sports Minister Shri Mansukh Mandavia. Mandavia congratulated and wished these promising players and wished them a bright future. Both players also met Union Minister of State for Sports Raksha Khadse, Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar and Lok Sabha MP Jagdambika Pal.
Rajiv Dutta said that Rajasthan players have illuminated the name of the country in the Under-17 Wrestling World Championship held in Athens from July to 3 August 2025. Ashwin gave a gold medal in the 65kg category, Komal Verma, a bronze medal in 49 kg freestyle and Kashish Gurjar of Bhilwara, traveled a great journey to the quarter -finals. Komal Verma, who lives in Sikar of Rajasthan, has been active in wrestling for the last 6 years.
Ashwin’s father, who hails from Bhilwara, is a normal mill laborer, who said that the Sangh has touched new heights under the leadership of Rajasthan Wrestling Association President Rajiv Dutta. For the first time during Dutta’s tenure, three girls went to participate in the Under-17 World Championships, which is a historical achievement in itself.
Rajiv Dutta said that the Rajasthan Wrestling Association has borne the training, housing, food and all other expenses of these players. In addition, the Sangh has started a unique arrangement to provide prize money of Rs 1 lakh to gold medal winners at the national level, Rs 50 thousand to silver medal winners and Rs 25 thousand to bronze medal winners as an incentive. This facility is available only in Rajasthan.
Recently at the Khelo India National Games held in Patna, Rajasthan also won 9 medals in wrestling, in which Ashwin received gold, Komal and Kashish got bronze medals. Overall, Rajasthan won 60 medals in all sports, of which wrestling contribution was notable.
Rajiv Dutta said that our goal is to provide all possible support to the young talents so that they increase the pride of the country on the global platform. The achievements of Ashwin, Komal and Kashish are a matter of pride for all of us.
