At the behest of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Muslims across the country have been opposing Waqf law since April 11.

The Waqf Amendment Act was heard in the Supreme Court for about 1 hour on the second day. The court has given 7 days time to respond to the Center and till then has banned the new appointments of the Waqf Board. After the government’s reply, the petitioners will also have to answer in 5 days. The next hearing of the case will be held on 5 May.

The court gave 3 orders: The Supreme Court said that only 5 petitions should be filed in place of 70 petitions filed against the law. They will be heard. Till then the government will have to accept three instructions.
