Correct cleaning of chopboard is necessary, otherwise bacteria can flourish, which can cause food poisoning. Clean with lemon, salt, baking soda and vinegar. Keep separate chopboard for different food items.

Plastic boards often deteriorate with knife cuts.
Highlights
- Avoid food poisoning with proper cleaning of chopboard.
- Clean chopboard with lemon, salt, baking soda and vinegar.
- Keep separate chopboard for different food items.
To clean the chopboard, washing it with water is not enough. For this, you should use natural and anti-bacterial things. First cut a lemon and rub it well on the chopboard. After this, sprinkle a little salt and scrub it. Lemon contains citric acid that helps kill germs and salt acts like a natural scrubber. If you want, apply one teaspoon of baking soda and one teaspoon vinegar and apply it on the chopboard and leave it for 10 minutes. Then wash it with warm water. If you adopt this method every week, then the Chopboard will be completely bacteria free.
It is important for a healthy life that we take full care of our kitchen hygiene. Changing the chopboard at regular intervals is also a good option, especially when deep cuts come on it and even after cleaning it starts to smell. It would be better to keep separate chopboard for different food items-like a board for vegetables, for a meat-fish and for a fruit. This will not cause cross-composition problems and food will be safe.
