India has overtaken China in the case of iPhone shipments in America. In the month of April, iPhone shipments from India have registered an increase of 76%. This information has been revealed in a report.

The export of iPhone to the US from India has increased by 76% in April. This information has been received from the new estimate of market research firm Omdia. Amidst the trade policies of President Donald Trump, this figure shows that Apple is moving faster towards India, moving away from China.
About 3 million iPhones made in India were sent to the US in April, while exports from China fell 76% to only 900,000 units. According to the CNBC report, this is the first time India has supplied iPhones in the US market, overtaking China.
This change shows Apple’s long -term strategy, which started during the epidemic but has become even more important in response to recent tariffs. Trump’s new competitive tariff policy has started on 2 April. According to this, 30% fee has been levied on iPhones coming from China, while there is a baseline duty of 10% on imports from other countries, including India.
Omdia’s research manager Le Juan Chiau said that Apple’s active preparation was clear. Apple has been preparing for such business obstacles for years. The speed in April probably shows strategic stockpiling before the tariff increases.
Despite the announcement of tariff exemption for consumer electronics on 11 April, there has been no change in the direction of Apple. CEO Tim Cook confirmed in May that most iPhones sold in the US in the June quarter would be made in India.
However, this increase may not be permanent in short -term. Chiau warned that despite India’s production capacity – improvement – is still limited. The demand for iPhones in the US is about 20 million per quarter, which India will not be able to fulfill before 2026. Nevertheless, April data shows that Apple’s supply series strategy is already proving beneficial.
